We are proud that we can contribute to the implementation of a project that is highly significant from the point of view of the national economy as well by constructing a comprehensive technological system. This development project, which serves security of supply and environmental protection purposes as well, enables not only the flexible use of renewable energy sources in the region but also creates an opportunity to operate both new and existing heat sources in an economically optimised manner.
Pursuant to Government Decree 184/2020. (V.6.), the structures of the 5+20 MW district heating plant fired by wood chips and its auxiliary buildings located on a property registered under topographical number 8360/6 and found on Mindszenti krt. in Kecskemét are going to be implemented as a development project with high significance from the point of view of the national economy.
This large-scale project is financed by the Cohesion Fund of the Szécshenyi 2020 programme and a non-refundable grant of approximately 8.5 billion Hungarian forints from the domestic central budget. The power plant under construction is going to improve the security of supply of 40,000 people and reduce the CO2 emissions from the generation of heat by 65%.
The biomass heating plant constructed within the framework of the development project, which has a capacity of 20+5 MW and uses a renewable energy source, is going to be connected to the existing district heating network and heat sources of the city through a new energy-efficient district heating main pipeline, thus creating a unified energy system. This system will enable the flexible use of renewable energy sources, simultaneously creating ample opportunities for operating both new and existing heat sources in an economically optimised manner.
The full technological (furnace and auxiliary) system of the heat generation unit of the 5+20 MW district heating plant is going to be constructed by Kraftszer Kft.
